Claim Form Information
There are many types of moving claims including but not limited to household goods damages, missing items, final costs, property damages and general service issues.
This section will address most of the generally asked questions regarding the filing of a claim. What information is required?
Your completed and signed claim form, moving paperwork, photographs, receipts and any additional information that may assist us in resolving your claim.
How much time do I have to submit a claim?
Generally 30 days for local moves and 9 months for interstate moves. Please review your Carrier’s Terms and Conditions for specific requirements.
How many photographs should I submit?
Take two or more photographs of each item, a photo of the item in its entirety and additional photos of the damages. Please identify each photo and the damages claimed.
Can I discard the damaged items?
Do not discard any packing materials, cartons or damaged items listed on your claim form until the resolution of this claim has been concluded.
Can I acquire estimates for repair?
The repairs and/or replacement of items and/or property will not be honored without pre-approved written consent from MCS. MCS will obtain repair estimates as determined.
How long does the claim process take?
All claims will be acknowledged in writing within seven (7) days of a completed claim submission and a determination issued no later than one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of receipt. Providing we have received all the necessary information, MCS routinely settles claims within sixty (60) days. Beyond one hundred twenty (120) days, we will notify you in writing of the delay and the expected date of resolution.
